DR. NICHOLAS MADDUX

Dr. Nicholas Maddux was born in Virginia Beach and raised in Chesapeake. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University with a major in biology. He then attended the prestigious Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

After graduating at the top of his class, Dr. Maddux was immediately admitted into the orthodontic residency program at West Virginia University, where he received a Master’s degree in orthodontics.

He is board certified by the American Academy of Orthodontists and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association. Dr. Maddux has been published in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics.

Dr. Maddux and his wife, Kristen, met when they attended school together in Richmond. They have three beautiful children: a daughter, Ryan, and two sons, Blake and Brody. They adore their ridgeback pup, Finn. The family loves spending time being active and going to the beach.

At Maddux Orthodontics, Invisalign® treatment is even easier and more proficient with the use of our latest iTero Digital Impression Scanner. Dr. Maddux leverages this state-of-the-art technology to take accurate 3-D digital images of your mouth. By utilizing this digital scanning system, we eliminate the need for impressions and expedite the process of starting your Invisalign® treatment. iTero Digital Scans boast goop-free impressions, so no more gagging with a mouthful of putty.

CUSTOM TREATMENT OPTIONS

When you come to Maddux Orthodontics, we will evaluate your orthodontic requirements and help you choose the best treatment for you. We offer many advanced treatment options including: traditional braces, clear braces, Invisalign, and specialty treatment for pediatric sleep apnea. We also utilize an in-office 3D printer to print and study models of your teeth. We are also able to print retainers, aligners and other orthodontic appliances.

INVESTING IN YOUR CHILD’S SLEEP

Early evaluation and diagnosis of pediatric sleep apnea is the first step in helping your child improve his overall health as well as his dental health. Dr. Maddux will evaluate your child’s upper and lower arch to determine if there is adequate space for permanent teeth as well as ample room for the volume of air your child needs during sleep. Dr. Maddux uses palatal expanders to open the palate, create space and guide the growth and development of the jaw and oral structures.
